BEST TELEPHONE OPERATOR OF THE YEAR

An all-Island open Competition for the “Best Telephone Operator of the Year 2006” was held in September 2006. This was organized by the #Lions #Club and Metropolitan Communications Ltd. After a written test, a test on terminology, project report on “How to improve the in-house telephone system,” an interview before a panel of judges and a workshop the winners were announced. #Manique Gunaratne was the only participant with a #disability who contested with people with non-disabilities. She became the first runner-up to make a change from dependent to independent.
