DIRIYA KANTHA AWARD 2007

Manique Gunaratne was awarded the “#Diriya #Kantha 2007 #award (#most #courageous #woman 2007). The award was presented at the #International #Women’s #Day celebrations organized by the #Ministry of #Social #Services at the #Sri #Lanka #Foundation #Institute. The Minister of Social Services, Minister of Women’s Affairs and Minister of Housing Development were present on the occasion. Manique Gunaratne did a presentation on “Disability and facing challenges”.  Articles were published in #Daily #News” and “#Sunday #Observer” newspapers in March 2007 to hear the cry of persons with disabilities for justice.
