Empowering Accessibility for All: Disability Accessibility Audits

The Human Rights Commission of Sri Lanka, in partnership with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), recently conducted a dynamic training workshop on Disability Accessibility Audits. This initiative brought together Government officers and persons with disabilities to collaboratively explore the importance of accessibility in public spaces. The programme was held at the Help Age Sri Lanka in November 2023. Manique Gunaratne and Tikiri Jayawardane were the resource persons who have lived experience, the workshop emphasized the unique perspectives and expertise that persons with disabilities bring to accessibility planning and implementation. Together, we’re building a more inclusive Sri Lanka for everyone!
