INCLUSIVE PRINT AND DIGITAL MEDIA CONTENT ON DATA AND STATISTICS FOR PERSONS WITH DISABILITIES

The Department of #Census and #Statistics together with the #UNFPA organised an event in December 2021 to launch the first-ever #inclusive print and #digital media content on #data and #statistics for persons with #disabilities. The #DCS publication titled 'Stats at a glance' in braille and sound bites created for dissemination on social media platforms. These products have been developed as part of DCS' commitment to inclusion and were produced based on the recommendations received from the consultation held during the year. #Manique Gunaratne prepared this publication in #Braille and spoke at the event held at the #BMICH. Mr. Anura Kumara, Ms. Sharika Cooray and Ms. Vasana Jayakody also spoke at the event.

Award ceremony scene. A woman in an orange and beige saree is standing on stage, smiling and receiving what appears to be an award or certificate from a man. The backdrop reads "DATA FOR ALL" and mentions DCS and UNFPA, with a tagline about statistical literacy. Another woman in a white and black saree and a woman in black are also on stage in the background. To the right, a person in the foreground with red-painted fingernails is clapping. The setting appears to be formal, with a podium on the left and potted plants for decoration.

A woman in an orange dress standing behind a large podium on a stage, speaking into a microphone. Behind her is a backdrop featuring geometric line designs and logos for DCS and UNFPA, with the caption "DATA FO... Enhancing the statis... Sri Lanka" partly visible. The room appears to be set up for a formal event or conference related to data or statistics. There is a plant partially visible to the left and a piece of red furniture in the foreground.
